  21. A PCMCIA modem is the way around it as they have 16550 UARTs built
  22. in.  Also, if using Win31 (it's serial port drivers were poor),
  23. upgrade to Win95 for bullet proof serial communications with the
  24. 16550 UART.  I highly recommend the Practical Peripherals ProClass
  25. 28.8 PCMCIA modem.
